Apples and Oranges
How many times have you heard (or used) the phrase – “It’s like apples and oranges” as if that explains everything.
Here’s a new take (and a good example of the power and usefulness of clarity)
Not too long ago, my husband said that to my son about something. Our son is an unusual kid who sees things in his own way. The term conventional wisdom would be fairly meaningless to him.
And, his response was, “well, that’s easy.
Everyone knows that apples are better than oranges.”
It’s all in how you look at things.
With your website, choosing apples over oranges, or any choice you’re making,
it’s the context, the viewer’s perception, and how you want to be seen.

indeed.
the most important thing a designer can do for her clients with is to establish visual hierarchies == what goes on top big and what goes below (apples!) —
same holds true in 3D architecture — “it would be nice to have a dedicated media room for the teenagers — but is it a priority — how do we keep the size of the house manageable?” — and so on
